Bill Heckathorn

Bill teamed up with Lone Mountain in July of 2019 and brings with him a host of experience.
A true farm kid from South Dakota, Bill knows what grit and solid work ethic look like. Obtaining his CFI in 2000, Bill became a flight instructor before moving to Wisconsin to manage an FBO. In late 2002, he moved to Omaha, Neb. where he assisted in pre-owned and new Cessna aircraft sales.
In September 2004, he decided to venture out on his own and started Performance Aircraft out of his basement. Bill sold over 25 aircraft in his first year, with the company averaging 60 a year as time progressed. For many years, Performance was the second-largest late-model piston Cessna reseller and the fourth largest Cirrus reseller. In 2019, Performance began to solely specialize in flight training, leading Bill to bring his sales expertise to the Lone Mountain team.
Bill has brokered, bought, and sold hundreds of Cessnas, broadening Lone Mountain’s expertise and ability to serve clients in that segment. He currently owns six Cessnas of his own and enjoys flying whenever he gets the chance.
In addition to his Cessna expertise, Bill has experience with Piper, Beech, Mooney, and Cirrus. Bill owns a Cirrus Training Center and a 2018 Cirrus which he purchased new.
Bill and his wife Sarah have three girls, Molly, Jenna, and Jacie. When he’s not up in the sky, Bill enjoys fishing, boating, and serving in his church.
