Why Lone Mountain? A Legacy of Aviation Expertise

Mark Rogers founded Lone Mountain Aircraft (LMA) in 2008 with the belief that buying and selling aircraft should be turbulence-free. Today, LMA provides a complete range of aircraft sales and acquisition services, meeting the needs of individuals and companies across the U.S. and in Europe.

As a Cirrus pre-owned sales partner, Lone Mountain is the largest reseller of Cirrus Aircraft and has expanded into several other popular general aviation aircraft including Embraer, Pilatus, Cessna Citation, TBM, and Piper Meridian.

Mark has been involved in over 2,000 aircraft transactions and has spent over 5,000 hours in the cockpit. In addition to Lone Mountain Aircraft, Mark has founded a handful of other aviation companies including AvCap Financial, Lone Mountain Aircraft Maintenance, Lone Mountain Jet Management, and Lone Mountain Flight Training.

When he’s not in the office or flying for work, Mark spends time at home in Dayton, Ohio.

Brian’s passion for aviation began as a young child when he sat in the cockpit of the F-4 his uncle flew in the U.S. Air Force. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to be a pilot!

He joined the Lone Mountain team in 2022, bringing with him over 20 years of industry experience and over 6,500 flight hours in 45+ types of aircraft. Brian is an alum of Kansas State University’s professional pilot program and holds a Master’s in Aviation Management and Operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Brian lives in Wichita, Kansas, with his wife Christy and their three children. They enjoy traveling and experiencing new things together as a family.

Gordon serves on the Lone Mountain team as Vice President of Sales, bringing with him over four decades of aircraft sales experience. Formerly the Piper and TBM Program Manager at Columbia Aircraft Sales, he is an experienced pilot with single and multi-engine IFR ratings, having logged just under 5,000 hours PIC. He is qualified in the TBM, Piper Mirage and Meridian, and has experience flying most piston aircraft.

Gordon is based out of Hickory, NC, and enjoys time with his wife, four children, and two grandchildren.

Ryan began his aviation career in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a helicopter flight technician. Following his military service, he attended Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) school and gained hands-on experience as a part-time technician with Airborne Express. He was later hired full-time as an A&P Technician, where he spent 15 years performing a wide range of airframe and powerplant maintenance functions.

Transitioning into government contract work, Ryan joined L-3 Communications (now L3 Technologies) as a Senior Field Engineer. His assignments took him to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait, where he provided critical support in high-stakes operational environments. In addition to holding an A&P license, Ryan is certified with Inspection Authorization (IA), further underscoring his technical expertise and commitment to regulatory compliance.

In 2013, Ryan joined Lone Mountain Aircraft Maintenance as Director of Maintenance, where he led operational oversight and quality assurance initiatives. He continues to conduct return-to-service flights for aircraft following major maintenance, ensuring safety and performance standards are met prior to customer delivery.

In 2025, Ryan was promoted to Vice President of Lone Mountain Aircraft Maintenance. In this role, he is focused on expanding the company’s capabilities and driving excellence across all facets of aircraft maintenance operations.

Outside of work, Ryan resides in Jeffersonville, Ohio, with his three children—Cole, Hensley, and Clay. He is actively involved in his community as a Township Trustee and enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hunting, and fishing.

Mutt’s passion for aviation came about by birth and being raised in Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation. He spent his weekends at the United States Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force base and knew being a pilot was in his future.  

Mutt joined the Lone Mountain team in November of 2023. He received his Private Pilot License while in high school in Dayton, Ohio. He played football, studied aeronautical engineering, and was part of the Air Force ROTC at The Ohio State University. 

He had a 25+ year Air Force career flying F-16s with multiple combat tours, test pilot roles, command tours, and retired as a Brigadier General. Following his Air Force career, he was an F-16 Test Pilot for Lockheed-Martin and the Director of Flight Operations at Cirrus Aircraft before joining Lone Mountain. 

Mutt has over 10,000 hours of flying experience in all types of military aircraft plus general aviation experience in multiple aircraft with most of the flying in the Cirrus SR-22 and Vision Jet.
