Mutt’s passion for aviation came about by birth and being raised in Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation. He spent his weekends at the United States Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force base and knew being a pilot was in his future.  

Mutt joined the Lone Mountain team in November of 2023. He received his Private Pilot License while in high school in Dayton, Ohio. He played football, studied aeronautical engineering, and was part of the Air Force ROTC at The Ohio State University. 

He had a 25+ year Air Force career flying F-16s with multiple combat tours, test pilot roles, command tours, and retired as a Brigadier General. Following his Air Force career, he was an F-16 Test Pilot for Lockheed-Martin and the Director of Flight Operations at Cirrus Aircraft before joining Lone Mountain. 

Mutt has over 10,000 hours of flying experience in all types of military aircraft plus general aviation experience in multiple aircraft with most of the flying in the Cirrus SR-22 and Vision Jet.

Julia works as a Flight Operations Coordinator at the Lone Mountain Training Center, where she helps keep everything running smoothly—from scheduling flights to handling logistics—all with the goal of providing the best possible experience for our customers.

When Julia is not at work, you’ll find her at home in Williamstown, Kentucky, spending time with her husband, Jake, and taking care of their many chickens and dogs. She loves balancing the fast-paced world of aviation with the simple joys of country life.

Andrew Wilson brings many years of flight instruction experience to his role as a SF-50 Vision Jet pilot and flight instructor at Lone Mountain Aircraft. 

Originally, from St. Louis, Missouri, Andrew gained an early love of aviation by flying in his uncle’s Grumman Tiger. He soloed at 16 and earned his private pilot certificate soon after. Andrew attended Saint Louis University where he majored in Aviation Management and participated in Air Force ROTC. After college, Andrew graduated from Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training and went on to serve 12 years as an instructor and evaluator pilot in the C-130J and C-21. He had several flying deployments to Afghanistan and other parts of Southeast Asia. Andrew most recently served as the Deputy Chief of the C-21 Formal Training Unit where he taught Air Force pilots to fly the Lear 35.

Now based at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrew continues to share his passion for aviation through his work at Lone Mountain. When not flying, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, working on home improvement projects, and cooking. His extensive aviation background and commitment to safety and training make him an asset to the Lone Mountain team. 

Ashley joined our team at Lunken Field in February of 2024. She is an SF50 pilot and Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot with experience as a Chief Pilot in collegiate flight training and in aviation program management. Ashley is passionate about advancing pilot proficiency and operational excellence.

She is a graduate of The Ohio State University.

Commercial Pilot | Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI, TCI)

With a decade of aviation experience and over 1,600 flight hours, Anthony Le is a skilled pilot proficient in Cessna, Piper, Diamond, Mooney, and Cirrus aircraft. Certificated as a Commercial Pilot and Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI, TCI), he is committed to aviation excellence and mentorship. A notable highlight of his career includes flying in formation as well as flying multi-engine island grass strip operations, demonstrating his precision and adaptability in challenging conditions.

Gabe joined Lone Mountain Aircraft – Flight Training in July of 2024 and serves as a Training Center Instructor (TCI) with our team, based out of Cincinnati’s Lunken Airport. 

Originally from Ohio, he began his aviation journey during high school, earning his Private Pilot License with an independent CFI at the Darke County Airport. After graduation, Gabe continued his flight training at Midwest Corporate Air in Bellefontaine, OH, where he obtained advanced certifications. 

In July 2025, Gabe earned his SF50 type rating in the Cirrus Vision Jet and holds a current Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate, with additional CFII, AGI, and IGI ratings, and has logged over 1,000 hours of dual given. Gabe is current in high-performance and complex aircraft, and has extensive experience providing transition training in Cirrus Aircraft for both new and experienced pilots. Outside the cockpit, Gabe enjoys playing sports and spending quality time with friends and family.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I grew a passion for aviation in high school which grew even more in college. I attended the University of Dubuque where I majored in Flight Operations with a background in Aviation Management. I have a passion for teaching aviation and showing the fun insights into a different perspective in the sky. As a TCI, it’s enjoyable to see pilots grow and reach their goals. In my free time I like to cheer on Cincinnati sports teams and spend time with friends and family.

David Thome’s passion for aviation ignited in 2015 when he served as a 15P Aviation Operations Specialist in the United States Army.  After his active duty service, he continued his flight training at Ohio State University. He served as a Line Service at the Ohio State University airport and as a dispatcher for the Ohio State University flight school. Following his education, David became a flight instructor and stage check pilot with Mac Air Flight Club in Dayton, Ohio. In 2025, he joined Lone Mountain, where he continues to inspire and instruct the next generation of aviators. David is a commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine land ratings. He earned his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) designation in 2023, additionally, he holds an Aviation Dispatcher certificate and an Instrument Ground Instructor certificate.
